Production according to IFS (another essential quality standard)
The International Food Standard (IFS) was specially developed for the section of the food industry which delivers its own products to retailers. The requirements of this standard were drawn up by the German retail federation (Hauptverband des Deutschen Einzelhandels or HDE) in collaboration with its French counterpart (Fédération des Enterprises du commerce et la Distribution or FDE). By building upon the well known quality management standard, DIN EN ISO 9001:2008, the IFS includes the principles of Good Manufacturing Practice (which include sanitation, pest control, preventative maintenance, and employee training) and HACCP.
The updated 4th Version of the IFS further integrates the most current of EU laws concerning the handling of allergens and genetically modified organisms.
